  • The practice of mindfulness has over 20 years of evidence demonstrating positive benefits across a range of domains. Despite this, many people misunderstand mindfulness or struggle to build a meaningful practice amongst the busyness of modern life.

    Furthermore, there are a range of different techniques available - some religious-based and some secular - and there is confusion about the application, benefits and appropriateness of each.

    Mindfulness coaching cuts through the maze of meditation styles to provide clear information about the techniques, the science, and what is most likely to be of benefit. Personalised recommendations, instruction and follow-up support enable mindfulness to be embedded into your life.

  • Mindfulness coaching helps you to learn the tools, practices and practical wisdom of mindfulness, and to apply these in your life. This helps us to achieve your goals, tackle problems and challenges in constructive ways, and build a foundation of calm confidence as you move through life.

    Mindfulness coaching is a 1:1 program, designed specifically for you based on your experience, goals and lifestyle factors. Mindfulness coaching gives you the confidence to embed a meaningful, mindfulness practice into your life.

  • The mindful coaching relationship commences with a review of your experience, goals and motivations for mindfulness. Our coach will then design a program of mindful techniques and activities and support you to become confident in their use.

    Each session will typically include:

    • A check-in about your progress and mindful experience. A review of progress toward your goals;

    • Clarifying mindfulness techniques and skills, where required and expanding on mindfulness techniques, guidance and additional techniques and approaches where appropriate;

    • Mindfulness meditation - a period of shared mindfulness meditation led by the coach;

    • An agreement for next steps.

  • Mindful coaching participants regularly report increased calm, peace and a reduction of anxiety symptoms. In addition, participants report an increase in focus, concentration, flow states and improved sleep quality.

  • Developing a mindfulness practice is much like learning any other skill - whilst easy it requires commitment and time to build a habit. Most people notice a clear improvement in their wellbeing after a couple of weeks of mindfulness practice, even as little as 15 minutes a day.

    Here at pauseful, we recommend commencing with 6 sessions to build confidence and competence and ensure the habits of mindfulness are gained.

    A series of studies have examined the impact of mindfulness-based coaching on a variety of groups, including health care professionals, employees, adults from the community, and university students.

    They found that these interventions can have beneficial effects on psychological functioning and well-being in healthy adults, including reduced psychological distress, negative emotions, and stress and burnout symptoms, and improved general relaxation, positive emotions, satisfaction with life, and interpersonal functioning.
